IRIS

My iris obsession grew with my first iris, a tall peach number gifted to me by my mother. When she handed me that dirty old rhizome, I didn't give it too much thought and quickly tossed it into the ground. I only welcome low maintenance plants that WANT to live on their own, and apparently that's what I got, because the following year it sprang up with a big peach flower and the year after that it multiplied exponentially. Beautiful, amazing, and it took nearly zero effort on my part.

When I discovered an iris shop online called Schreiner's, all hell broke loose. Spend $35 and get a free iris? Wait...what? Where do I sign up? Over the last two years of filling my cart and getting freebies, my iris collection has gotten a bit out of hand. If I continue on this path, I'll need a bigger property (heh, heh--stay tuned!)

Want to frolic in a meadow of colorful iris? Me, too. Maybe this page will see you through those tough times. LOL. If not, visit Schreiner's website for an eyeful, or visit their garden in person, located in Salem, Oregon.
